A Royal Welcome: Quantum Supports TWI’s Visit from HRH The Princess Royal

Quantum Commercial Cleaning Ltd was proud to support TWI Ltd as it welcomed Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to its headquarters at Granta Park, Cambridge for the Welding, Joining and Manufacturing Conference and Exhibition, WeldJoinExpo.

Attending in her capacity as an Honorary Fellow of The Welding Institute, The Princess Royal toured the facilities, including the main engineering hall, and met staff and visitors. The occasion continued her longstanding connection with TWI, following her opening of three new buildings at its headquarters in 2015.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase TWI’s outstanding contribution to engineering and manufacturing. With more than 100 years of combined experience and heritage, TWI and The Welding Institute have helped advance welding and joining technologies through research, technical expertise and innovation. Their achievements include the invention of friction stir welding, alongside contributions to the codes and standards that guide industry around the world.

WeldJoinExpo brought together more than 570 attendees, with representation from organisations including Rolls-Royce, Caterpillar and JCB. It was an opportunity to share knowledge, explore new technologies and inspire the next generation of engineers. The programme highlighted research and developments across sectors including aerospace, defence, nuclear energy and space, with a dedicated focus on training, skills and careers.

As TWI’s appointed cleaning contractor, we were delighted to play our part in preparing for such an important occasion. Our team worked incredibly hard ahead of the event to ensure the site was presented to an exceptional standard, providing continued cleaning support throughout the day and after the event.

Working closely with TWI’s facilities team, our focus was on providing dependable support and peace of mind, allowing them to concentrate on welcoming guests and delivering a successful event. Everything ran smoothly and it was particularly rewarding to receive positive feedback on our team’s contribution.
